New Additions

Just thought I'd share some new adds to my library - everyone a gem and worth every penny!

The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah by Alfred Edersheim. This is a classic. If you don't have this take moment to check it out.

Always Reforming edited by A.T. B. McGowan. I'm still reading this but its very insightful and if you're stuck in a theology from the 17th century perhaps you should have a look at this.

A Scottish Christian Heritage by Iain Murray

Revival and Revivalism by Iain Murray

Evagelicalism Divided by Iain Murray. How can you go wrong with anything written by Murray?

Shared Life by Donald Macleod. A little classic on the importance and right understanding of the Trinity.

See the scrolling widget on the sidebar for links on these books.

Hi Bro,

Things are going well at College, enjoying being back. You clearly have a love of all things Scottish as all your new books are by Scots. Second thoughts Iain Murry might be English. I heard him preach once, he preached in KJV language which was a bit disappointing. Let me know how you get on with Erdersheim's life of Jesus the Messiah. I am part way through it but I started it about 10 years ago :-).
I am sure our libraries are very similar. I enjoy Iain Murray's books, really enjoyed his two volumes on Lloyd Jones and his biography of Edwards.
God Bless you Russ!

Stephen,
Buying boks authored by Scots isn't always by design, sometimes its by recommedation. I'm taking some online seminary classes through Covenant Seminary and the Prof often recommend books authored by Scots. Other times it just seems to work out that way.
:-) Always Reforming is great. Am I right in believing your blessed having McGowan as your principal?
Thanks for dropping by and I look forward to your next post.

Hi Russ,

Yes Prof McGowan is the principle of HTC. This year he is taking three of us for Christian Ethics. The college's new M'th also has Donald Bray and Paul Helm as visiting professors which is amazing because HTC is very small. We are very blessed, I am glad your doing a course all that theology needs an outlet and recognition. Keep up the good work.
Shalom
Stephen

That's really cool.I envy you for your youth and theological "drive." I wish I was in your position. I'd love to be in a school like yours learning from the best. OTOH, In God's Providence, I'll trust Him that I'm exactly where I should be. All God's best to you and stay in touch!
