National Healthcare

Yes, I’ve heard this argument before. It goes something like this: “We (as Christians) should endorse government programs to assist the homeless, provide healthcare, provide jobs, etc., etc. It’s what Christ would do wouldn’t he?” Well no, he wouldn’t. It all sounds nice but it is not biblical. It blurs the lines between church and state and that is what everyone is arguing for these days isn’t it, the distinction between church and state? To boot, I’ve heard this argument as way of escape from tithing, after all, "the money that would go to my church is going to the government which provides the same service, no?"
